First Night Spokane is a huge event that takes place on New Year's Eve in downtown Spokane, Washington. First Night has over 50 venues and 150 artists performing or presenting in a single night. Surprisingly, this event takes a year to plan, organize, recruit sponsors, and recruit volunteers. Despite the monumental task of coordination 500 volunteers and 150 artists at over 50 venues, First Night Spokane presents a wonderful alcohol free New Years Eve Celebration through the Arts.

First Night Spokane suffered from having all of their information scattered across multiple spreadsheets, assorted word-processor documents, paper notes, paper applications, and day-planners. J-D Strong Consulting analyzed the information needs of the organization and created a custom Organizational Management Solution for First Night Spokane. This centralized web based system helped organize all aspects of the event coordination: Artists, Venues, Sponsors, Restaurants, Hotels, Vendors, Volunteers, and more. Organizers now have immediate access to the latest information for all areas of the event, and best of all, they can access it at any time from anywhere.

Building upon the centralized Organizational Management Solution, we created an interactive and dynamic web site that presents the public with detail on the artists, venues, and the First Night Spokane event as never before. Integrated scheduling in the Organizational Management Solution allowed participants to see when and where an artist would be performing for the evening. All of the scheduling content for the printed program was produced directly out of this system.

The integration of all of this data allowed us to create a tool for First Night Spokane Participants to build and print their own customized agendas for the event.

The Organizational Management Solution created by J-D Strong Consulting allowed First Night Spokane to move in new directions, never thought possible. First Night Spokane has been able to stay ahead of their time lines thanks to the power provided by the centralized data solution of an Organizational Management Solution. The Organizational Management Solution has freed up the organizers to make First Night Spokane better than ever.

Uncle's Games

Uncle's Games was looking for a new e-commerce solution to fit their needs, and provide a better sales environment for their customers. Uncle's Games averages several thousand dollars in sales per month via web-based e-commerce and is considered to be in the Top 10 of on-line game retailers. Uncle's Games was looking to migrate to a more flexible e-commerce solution using a solution that will not lock them into a single closed source solution, and that which will allow them to customize the site to provide a great customer experience and more intuitive administrative interface.

Uncle's Games operated for 5 years using the e-Commerce solution, Intershop, which lacks many of the features Uncle's Games wanted to add to their web-based e-commerce site. J-D Strong Consulting brought Uncle's Games e-commerce site via the migration to a more open and modular e-commerce solution that included: better search capabilities, more effective cross-selling, support ticketing system, a more intuitive order, sales and administrative interface, and affiliate management. This migration also included an extensive data transformation and migration of Uncles Game's current product catalog, customers and affiliates into the new site.

Uncle's Games has seen upwards of 150% increase in sales and site activity since migrating to our e-commerce solution. They have full control over their products, catalog, and customers. The dynamic and modular system allows for future feature additions with relative ease.

10 Minutes Down

10 Minutes Down had a new CD and an old site. The site suffered from frequent database failures and outages. The band's presence has been growing with the latest release and they wanted a site that was more reliable, a PayPal store, improved message boards, and control over the content of the site.

The solution for the 10 Minutes Down web site was a content management system driven web site with an additional custom PayPal shopping cart system. Key persons within 10 Minutes Down are able to maintain all web site content via the web based content management system. This web site relies heavily on the ability to set end dates on news and event items to help keep the site fresh and relevant with minimal work beyond initial creation of the news or event item.

WSRO's Wheel Options Campaign

The Washington State Ridesharing Organization (WSRO) kicked off their new "Wheel Options" campaign with a custom programmed database driven entry form, and employer tool set. A dynamic template was used with this project to enable cost savings for future campaign related site refreshes. Key persons are able to maintain a majority of the site content and information via a web based content management system.

Spokane County Commute Trip Reduction

J-D Strong Consulting has long developed and maintained Spokane County's Commute Trip web site. After the great success of the implementation of the MyCommute.org Commute Calendar web site and Summer Solutions campaign, it was decided to freshen the Commute Trip Reduction web site. Goals of the redesign included simplifying navigation by bringing deep links to the main page, making the site friendly and inviting with depictive icons, and automating site content via a content management system. The site redesign helped Spokane County's Commute Trip Reduction to extend the audience of the site to affect employees participating or interested in the Commute Trip Reduction program and promotional campaigns.
